Ever since we’ve moved into our home, we’ve always had heating issues. The house is heated with radiators and they are very efficient.
These radiators do a great job with heating the house but the heat is distributed unevenly.
For example, we would have the bottom floor at a nice temperature and then the upstairs would be 10 degrees warmer. Also, we have always had issues with what is called “water hammer”.
This is an issue when radiators get trapped air or water and then the radiator pipes begin to bang loudly. This would occur at all hours of the night.
I am usually able to sleep through it, but Sarah is a lighter sleeper and will wake up immediately.
I’ve probably had about 5 different guys look at the radiator system and none of them have been able to fix our heating issues.
My friend Phil, is a really smart guy and is super picky with who he hires, to do work at his home. All the work in his home is top notch. His guys may not be the cheapest but they’ll definitely figure out the issues.
Phil sent over his heating and air conditioning guy over to our house. By the way this guy talked, I could tell he knew what he was talking about. Ken grew up in a house with radiators and serviced them in the beginning of his career.
He described it like working on a race car, where you make an adjustment here and another adjustment there. He tweaked our system and the temperature of the house was perfect.
All of the banging “Water Hammer” was completely eliminated. He showed me how our heating system worked and the things to look for in order to keep the heat evenly distributed.
Over the next few days, Ken called me to make sure our heating system was still working to our satisfaction. This made me feel that he was taking care of us.
Making people feel taken care of is important. Especially in the healthcare industry.
It’s something that I value when I work with people, and it’s what I strive for when I’m treating my patients.
We always check in our patients to make sure they are doing ok after a procedure. And we strive to fix it right the first time. We give patients my personal cell number and encourage them to call if they have any issues.
Usually when someone comes in with an issue we will be able to solve their problem immediately.
Our philosophy is to treat our patients as if we were treating our own family.
