During the pandemic, I was working out. I probably stopped for about 7 months. When the gyms first re-opened, I was hesitant and probably waited another four months before I felt it was safe to begin working out at a gym.
There were few people who would come into the gym. It was virtually empty. Getting on a workout machine was easy.
Many people were working out at home with workouts like Peloton.
Peloton’s stock was skyrocketing during the pandemic. They couldn’t stock the high-end workout bike fast enough during the pandemic.
Some experts were predicting the end of gyms because of this new streaming work out concept that people were flocking to. The argument was why would anyone go to a gym when there was a convenient alternative at their home.
For the last 6 months my gym has steadily been getting busier and busier. It has been getting difficult to get on certain machines because there are people that are constantly using them.
Now Peloton’s stock has plummeted, and they’ve had to lay off many of their workers. Just a year ago, some experts were predicting the end of in person gyms and the new workout model as being the convenient at home workouts.
My wife Sarah loves her Peloton and I hate it.
I am not a “workout at home” kind of guy. It’s not my thing.
I really enjoy the good ol’ fashion going to the gym. I enjoy the routine of seeing the same people every day and giving them a nod and hello, as I walk by them.
We all like different things and one model does not fit all.
In the world of dentistry, corporate dental practices have been growing and the family owned dental offices are a dying business model.
Experts are predicting that eventually, all of the dental offices will be corporate owned, and the dentist owned office, will be extinct.
Our dental office is family owned and our office is busier than ever. People love the individualized treatment.
They love that they see the same dentist every time they come in. They feel that their care is consistent because of that continuity with the provider. They also love that our staff have been with us for years, they are recognized and greeted warmly.
All in all, they love the friendly atmosphere they receive, the moment that they walk through the door.
If you are looking for a family-oriented dental office, a dentist-owned practice, or a personalized, friendly office, you’ve found it.
