I remember when the virus was declared a pandemic and things started shutting down in March, people had to start working from home and I was thinking that this was going to free up people’s time.
I thought they are no longer required to take their 30 minutes plus commute and would have all this free time. When I came back to work, I would ask everyone, “How’s work going?”
About 99% of the people responded, “Oh my God, it is so busy and stressful.” It turned out that the vast majority of people’s responsibilities increased dramatically now that they were living in this new type of world.
Now when I ask people about how their work is going, they said they are busy but no big deal. It is what it is.
Humans are very adaptable creatures and at first when we need to make a change, we struggle, but eventually we figure it out.
We require every patient to fill out a questionnaire, that is designed to identify any potential patients that have been exposed to the virus. We also take everyone’s temperature and oxygen levels when they come into our office. We require everyone to wear masks when they come into our office and as they walk through the office. We follow the City of Chicago travel mandates.
Every room is disinfected and sanitized with chemicals that have been tested to kill the virus. In addition, we fog every treatment room with hypochlorous acid, which helps kill any airborne virus. Finally, we have medical grade air purifiers that are on constantly. These air purifiers help clean the air and turns the air in the office 8 times in an hour.
I am happy to say that all of these safety measures have kept all of our team and patients safe.
