I really hate shopping. Going to a store, wandering around, and trying stuff on, sounds like a nightmare to me. Whenever I need to buy clothes, it’s a very well thought out mission.
First, I take into account what I need to buy.
Second, I try to pick a time where the store is least busy.
Third, I place a goal as to how fast I want this whole process to take.
I’ve always felt this way. I don’t remember a time when I enjoyed shopping.
I would get physically sick during a long shopping day. My head would start hurting. I get hot and tired.
I think, for me, it’s the constant waiting that drives me nuts.
You find something you like, then you need to wait for a salesperson to help you. Then you are waiting for a changing room to try the stuff on. Then you’re waiting for a cash register to pay for the items.
It’s a time issue for me. While I’m waiting, I’m thinking, “There’s a million other things that I’d rather be doing right now.”
Ultimately, I find it to be a waste of my time. I think this is why I am very aware of staying on time at work.
I am constantly checking the time, to make sure that I see the next patient on time. I tell my patients how long the procedure should take, to make sure I’m not going to spill over into another commitment they may have made, after their appointment with us.
Time is always on my mind, because I like respecting people’s time.
