For a long time now, hotels have stopped using actual room keys, instead, they are using cards to open your hotel room. Ever since hotels have made that switch, I’ve hated it.
My hotel room card is always getting demagnetized, by being near my phone or wallet, or whatever. Then I will be unable to open my hotel room.
What will happen is this. I’ll go up to my room, which is usually not near the front desk. Once I get to my room, I wave my room key card in front of the door sensor and the light on the sensor is supposed to switch from red to green.
When I pull out my card from my pocket and wave it in front of the sensor. The light to unlock the door stays red. Then I wave the card, very slowly to make sure the sensor picks up the card information. The light is still red.
Then I place the card directly on the sensor and hold it there for 5 to 10 seconds. Still red. Then I check the room number. Maybe I have the wrong room. Nope! I have the correct room number. I was annoyed that I head back down to the reception desk.
Usually I’ll have to wait in line because they are helping other guests in front of me. Then I’ll tell them about my issue and they’ll say “Oh! You probably demagnetized the card. Don’t worry, I’ll re-set it.”
Sure enough I go back to the room and the door opens with the newly re-set card. The whole process is annoying and inconvenient for me.
This last time, our hotel offered hotel key wristbands. We would wave our wrist over the sensor and our hotel room door became unlocked.
Not one time did we lose our key or did the key become demagnetized. It was great, my experience was awesome and a hotel annoyance became resolved.
The hotel realized that there was a segment of their customers, that had an issue and they found a solution.
In dentistry, we have a large part of the population that are afraid of the dentist. Many of these patients will avoid the dentist all together.
At Dente, we understand that these patients will require a different type of dentistry. We offer Anxiety Free Dentistry.
These patients take an anxiety reducing pill the night before and one the morning of their appointment. The patient has his dental procedures performed in a relaxed state. More work is able to be completed, at one appointment, and the patient feels a deeper level of numbness.
All in all, the results are a great dental appointment.
