One of my friends got very creative and I would love to share her story.
My friend is an amazing daughter. She is originally from New York. She and her sister moved her parents to Chicago so they could be close to family.
Her parents are in their 90’s and are currently in an assisted living facility.
She and her sister go see their parents every day. They are amazing daughters.
Whenever she talks about her parents, her face lights up. It is a very nice thing to see.
When the virus and lockdowns began back in March, the assisted living facility took massive precautions to help protect their residents.
Now my friend and her sister were no longer able to see their parents until the situation became safer. They were calling their parents everyday, but it was simply not the same.
She was missing the physical interaction of seeing her parents and got creative as to how she could see her parents.
Both her and her sister have very stressful and demanding jobs. To say they have no free time, is an understatement. But her desire to see her mom and dad outweighed her lack of time. She and her sister decided they had to get a job at the senior living facility in order to gain access inside the facility. Now, she and her sister, both works there and one of them will see their parents each day.
When she told me what she was doing, my eyes began to well up.
I was going to tell you how this in some way relates to dentistry but decided I didn’t want to take away from the story. I am leaving this one alone.
