The minute our office went into lockdown in March, I went into information BEAST MODE. I wanted to figure out how to reopen my office safely.
There is a lecturer that I love to listen to, who is an MD and lectures to dentists a lot. He is a nephrologist (kidney Doc) at Mass General and teaches at the Harvard Medical School. His information is very thorough but at the same time, easy to understand. All in all a great teacher.
He put together an amazing lecture on how to keep the office safe when you reopen. All of the things that I have implemented in my office, is 100% from that lecture.
In that same lecture, he shared with us that some friends of his had come up with the vaccine for this virus. They had the genetic sequencing in early February. They worked night and day. With just over 40 days they came up with the vaccine.
He told us in late March, that they were going to have the vaccine to the public before the year ended. In his presentation, he laid out all the steps they were going to take to accomplish this and the timeline.
I remember thinking, this seems pretty optimistic.
The name of the company that Dr. Fang was talking about was Moderna. Moderna is just a few blocks away from Dr. Fang’s office in Boston. This week, Moderna is looking to get FDA approval. They had a complex task to accomplish, put a plan in place, and executed the plan.
Now obviously getting dental work done is no where near the importance or gravity that was needed to develop a vaccine, but the steps that are needed to get the task done, is similar.
Many people feel overwhelmed when they need a lot of dental work. They begin to worry about the length of time it will take. The number of appointments. The cost.
Everyone has these concerns. But starting is the hardest part. Once you start, get a plan in place, step by step, then you can knock it out, little by little, or as much as you want.
If you have a large amount of dental work that needs to be completed and want to get a step by step, customized plan, please call 773-292-1911 or visit us at mydente.com to schedule a consultation.
