I have a lead foot when it comes to driving.
As a kid, I drove way faster and have slowed down a bit in my advanced age. But I still always drive over the speed limit.
There is one road in particular, that I drive pretty fast. There are certain spots where the police like to hang out and I slow down as I approach the speed traps. Once I pass the notorious police speeds zones, I’m back up to above the speed limit zooming, down the road.
As I was doing my usual slow down and then speeding back up, the speed trap had moved a few blocks down. The police officer was not in his usual spot.
My stomach sinks and my heart start to pound as the police car begins to catch up and now his lights turn on. I begin to pull off the road and prepare myself to admit total guilt.
The police car begins to speed up even more and suddenly switches lanes and zooms right past me. Many times, in my life, things don’t work out as I imagined it. This was one of those cases. I did not expect that at all.
In dentistry, many people avoid going to the dentist because they are afraid of what the dentist will find. They are concerned that they will need a lot more work. They imagine their treatment to be a lot worse and more complicated than it actually is.
