Recently, a patient of mine, was discussing his desire to quit smoking. He has been struggling with quitting for a while and has been a long time smoker for about 20 years. He has tried 3 times or more to quit.
Studies show that smoking does play a huge role in heart disease, lung cancer, and definitely affects the teeth, among other things. People that smoke, have a higher risk of gum disease, and bone loss, resulting in tooth loss.
For some, this can be the strongest motivating factor. The idea of losing their teeth, weighs more heavily than the other factors. For this patient, it was also the thought of having to wear dentures if he starts to lose teeth. So, he found this book that has helped him to stop smoking. He read it in one day. It has been 6 months, and he has not picked up another cigarette since.
I wanted to share this book with you all. And hopefully, give someone the needed motivation to quit smoking for good.
Hope this helps.
