I was never a video game kind of kid. We had Atari and Nintendo, but I never really got into it. I would play for about 30 minutes and then go outside to play.
We rode our bikes everywhere and played tackle football with the kids in the neighborhood.
One of the things we did do, we had shaving cream fights at Devonshire Park.
We were not able to buy the shaving cream at the stores. We either had to have one of our older siblings buy it or have a written note from our parents.
Getting one our friend’s older brothers to buy the shaving cream was a way easier hurdle.
We would modify the nozzles by melting wax into the nozzles to create a smaller opening. This would allow the shaving cream shoot a lot further.
We would go home full of shaving cream from head to toe. My mom never understood why that was fun, but I think she just wrote it off as ‘boys being boys.’
This past weekend, on Sunday morning, the doorbell rang. Finn shot out of bed and ran downstairs. He knew it was for him because Declan rings the bell every morning at 10:00am sharp.
Declan had a project. Finn and Declan were going to make slime. He had all the ingredients. One of the main ingredients was shaving cream.
I am very happy that these boys prefer playing outside then playing video games or watching YouTube.
With all of the technology we currently have, seeing them have some good old fashion fun is way better.
There is nothing like the human connection.
Dentistry is constantly trying to innovate out the human element. Companies are trying to automate everything in dentistry.
I love the connection we have with our patients.
I love that when they call, they get a live human to answer their questions. They don’t have to press a series of buttons and go through a menu of options before they can make contact with a real voice on the other end.
I love that we know our patients by name and know things about their life.
I know that you are looking for a great dentist to connect with. Give us a call today at 773-292-1911 or visit us at mydente.com to get scheduled. We would be happy to meet you!
