Many of my friends kids have completely embraced online learning.
It has been a seamless transition and many of their kids prefer online learning to in-person.
That has not been my family’s experience. Our son has had a very difficult time with his online learning.
Whenever I call my wife, Sarah, I’ll ask how many times has he cried. If its 4 times or less its a good day.
But, for Finn he requires more human interaction. He’s definitely an extrovert and loves being around people. The online learning is not his thing.
We are all different. Some people thrive in certain environments and others are stunted in those same environments.
Dentistry is definitely going into the corporate model.
I believe that going to the dentist will be like going to McDonalds.
It is estimated that 80% of all dental offices in the US will be corporate owned by 2024.
The mom and pop dental office like Dente, is a dying breed.
Many of my friends that own their own offices are very afraid of this growing tend. They feel that the corporate style offices will have greater buying power and undercut our pricing.
I recognize that many people love the corporate model.
They are not bothered that they see a different hygienist and dentist every time they go into their dental appointment. They don’t care that the front desk rotates people every 6 months to a year.
For me, I hate that type of dental treatment.
I want to see the same people because I am definitely the type of person who builds relationships. Especially with my health care.
I welcome this huge push to make dentistry corporate owned.
It will make dental offices, like Dente, stand out more and give the public an alternative to their dental care.
