Lab Grown Diamonds

Last weekend, my wife, Sarah and I, went out with some old high school friends. We’ve known Alan and Mileen for almost 40 years. We were going out to dinner with them in the city.

Mileen asked me if it was ok if she invited some of their friends, that live in their building. We were totally fine with them inviting another couple.

We knew we would like them because we trust Mileen and Alan. They are good at combining friends, so we knew we were in good hands.

Meeting new people is always fun for me. I get to hear what they do and usually learn new things.

This weekend was no different. The couple were a lot of fun and the husband owned a jewelry store on Wabash.

Isaac had been in the jewelry business for over 30 years. I was talking to him about how Sarah wants to upgrade her engagement and wedding rings. Then he said to me, “I have three words for you. Lab Grown Diamonds.”

He had my attention of these three words that I’ve never heard before. He said that diamonds that are made in a laboratory, are beautiful and flawless, but a fraction of the price of mined “Natural” diamonds.

Then I asked him, “Would people be able to tell the difference between a natural diamond versus a lab grown diamond? His response: “Would you be able to tell that I’m an in vitro baby?”

That made sense. I was convinced.

I will check out Isaac’s jewelry store, because I liked him and trusted him, but more importantly, Alan and Mileen recommended him and introduced us.
