In college, we were always looking for cheap deals for beer.
One year, Michelob was constantly offering really cheap deals and we were kept buying their beer. Their beer bottles were dark in color, and it was difficult to see what was inside.
One particular day, we were going all out, watching sports and drinking Michelob’s.
We had maybe 20 empty beer bottles on the table. I got up and went to the bathroom.
When I came back, I grabbed what I thought was my bottle and took a drink.
The beverage hit my tongue and it tasted nothing like a Michelob. The beverage was warm and thick. My tongue had this tingly sensation with a menthol smell.
As soon as I smelled that menthol, I knew exactly what had happened.
I had picked up the wrong bottle and had picked up my friends chewing tobacco spit bottle.
I began to gag violently and threw up. From that day on, the smell of chewing tobacco elicits a severe gagging episode.
