A little over a year ago, I had written how I went to get my physical and I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic.
I had gotten some bloodwork done and my cholesterol, my blood pressure and my sugar were all elevated.
My doctor is my cousin and he laid into me.
He said, “You need to get your sugar down. I’m really worried about that.”
He had me a little freaked out.
He said, “If your sugar goes up 2 more points, I’m putting you on diabetes medicine.”
After he said that, he had my complete attention.
I responded as I stuttered, “WWWhaattt do I have to do?”
He said you need to lose your gut. If you lose your gut, your sugar will go down.
That’s when I decided to get serious and lose some weight.
So I went to Dick Sporting Goods and bought the coolest gym bag I could find. Because it is essential to get a super cool gym bag to lose your gut. Then I went to Walgreens and bought all the necessary toiletries. Because everyone knows that you need all the necessary toiletries to lose your gut.
Then I went and bought some lifting magazines to find out about all of the new lifting techniques.
Heck, I was ready to go.
So I got a membership at Midtown and showed up with my cool new gym bag from Dick’s. And my cool new toiletries from Walgreens.
Two more days of this and I was going to be ripped.
Six months later I had worked out consistently 3 days a week and had only lost 5 pounds. Oh, and by the way, my gut was still there.
So I took the plunge and hired myself a professional. I hired a personal trainer. In August I hired him and I have been consistently working out 5 to 6 days per week.
I have lost 12 pounds but most importantly I am no longer pre-diabetic. And my blood pressure and cholesterol are now at normal levels.
Hiring a professional was the best thing that I did.
Lately, I’ve been hearing of a lot of people doing Smile Direct Club.
Smile Direct is a tooth straightening system similar to Invisalign.
Smile Direct will send the patient all the stuff they need to take their own impression, send it to their company, and then they send you all the plastic trays to straighten your teeth.
I firsthand have seen the damage Smile Direct has done on people’s teeth and gums.
I understand that it is a fraction of the price of Invisalign, but there is no professional supervision.
Just like I sought out professional help with my weight loss, I advise you to get a professional to get your teeth straightened.
There are a lot of factors to consider when you are straightening your teeth like your bite, your gums, and your bone. And you need to make sure that your teeth and gums are completely healthy before you move them.
If you would like to get a teeth straightening consultation, please call 773-292-1911. Please let Katie, Zhana, or Martha know that you’d like an Invisalign consult.
