Finn is 8 years old, and I believe that last year was the year he figured it all out. What I mean, is that he figured out there was no Easter Bunny or Santa.
Last Easter, Finn was going through Sarah’s car and saw an Easter basket full of candy and stuff. He grabbed the basket and said, “Dad! Dad! Dad! I think mom is the Easter bunny.”
I responded, “You think so? I don’t think so.” I had this real dubious tone.
He also was asking questions about Santa, that’s what made me think he was on to the game. I am 100 percent positive that he knows his parents are the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus, but has never admitted to it.
He has this belief, that if he doesn’t play along with the game, all of the gifts will stop. Many times, we all have moments when we pretend to feel a certain way, but in reality, we are just putting on an act.

In the dental chair, I see this with some patients. They pretend they’re not afraid of the dentist, but truly are terrified of going. My dad hates going to his dentist (me!) But he will never admit when he’s scared.
Going to the dentist is a real scary thing for a lot of people. Many of these patients will avoid the dentist for years, because of their fear.
For these patients, we offer Anxiety Free Dentistry. We will offer them anxiety reducing pills, that will help the patient relax for their appointment. One anxiety reducing pill the night before their appointment and one the morning of their appointment.
Most patients will tell us that they don’t remember the details of the appointment but had a great experience.
If you are ready to experience anxiety free dentistry, visit us at mydente.com or call 773-292-1911 to schedule an appointment today!
