Last Friday, I went to an amazing class. It was put together by an incredible gum specialist, Peter Cabrera, who is located in Lincoln Park.
Dr. Cabrera was able to land a major dentist on the lecture circuit. The name of the lecturer is Bob Winter.
Bob Winter’s entire lecture was on comprehensive care.
Many times, when care has been ignored or neglected for years, many specialties are required to help get the patient to an ideal state.
So this would require a general dentist, a gum specialist (periodontist), an orthodontist (braces specialist) and a great ceramist to make the teeth.
The one who coordinates all of these groups is the general dentist. He or she is the one that makes sure that each group knows the end goal, and coordinates the sequencing.
Many times the general dentist is called the QUARTERBACK because they are the one that takes charge and coordinates the entire treatment.
The lecture was devoted to how to coordinate properly to get the best and most efficient results.
There were a few examples in class that showed me how to achieve a certain result in a different way than I would have done it. That was great. But, in most cases, it was verification that my sequencing and thought pattern was pretty spot on with his.
This was a fantastic class and I would like to thank Peter Cabrera for putting it together.
If you would like to get a consultation at our Wicker Park dental office, please call 773-292-1911 and ask for Katie or Zhana. Let them know you would like to set up a consultation with Dr Couret.
