Since we’ve been back and opened for business, we’ve incorporated a bunch of procedures to help keep our team and patients safe.
Some of you have already been into our office, and may have noticed a loud, blowing sound, while at our office.
After the patient leaves the room from his appointment, we clean all of the contact surfaces. Every surface is wiped down. Chairs, keyboards, sinks, faucets, cabinets, desk, counter tops, and so on. After the entire cleaning process is done, we spray hypochlorous acid into the room.
Hypochlorous Acid is something that our body produces naturally. It is basically electrolyzed salt water. This liquid is a disinfecting solution that has been used in eye drops and for cleaning fruits and vegetables. It is a safe and natural disinfecting solution.
Marriott hotel chain, just announced that they will be disinfecting all of their hotels worldwide with foggers/misters using hypochlorous acid.
Cruise ships have been using hypochlorous acid for all of their ships, after the cruise liners were getting virus outbreaks.
You’re probably asking, “If it’s so good, why aren’t we seeing more commercially available.” The thing is, hypochlorous acid does not have a long shelf life and looses its potency after a few months.
We use test strips everyday to test the solutions potency. We mix our solution at the office, to make sure the solution has the strength required, to kill 99.99% of the virus and other bacteria.
Why is the fogging so important?
It is believed that the virus remains airborne for several hours. By fogging/misting the air, we are killing the airborne virus that we are unable to capture with our traditional cleaning protocols.
Thanks for your confidence and support. I really appreciate all of the people you are sending to our office because of our safety measures.
If you know of anyone that is not feeling safe in their regular dental office, please send them our way. Have them call 773-292-1911 to schedule their appointment.
