For the last 20 years, I’ve been noticing my hair was thinning. I went to a dermatologist when I first noticed, and he told me that he would be able to give me a pill and it would keep the hair that I had.
The only thing was that once I started, I could never stop using the medication. I decided that I would pass and just deal with it.
Now fast forward 20 years and now I’m mostly bald. I thought I would be a lot more upset about it but I’m not.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been thinking about it for over 20 years, and I’ve been preparing myself. Or maybe I’m just older and things like that, don’t bother me that much.
I know I could have way worse medical issues and this one is not so serious for me. But if my baldness would have happened in my twenties, forget about it. I would have been freaking out.
That would have been a very traumatic event and would have affected my self-confidence. I don’t know why it is, but traumatic events are way more impactful as a youngster than one that happens as an adult.
One of the things that we see all the time in dentistry, is a traumatic dental appointment that then creates a fear of the dentist.
Most of these events happen when the patient was a child. These patients will develop a fear of the dentist and they will avoid the dentist all together. Their fear keeps them from making their appointments.
For these patients we offer them Anxiety Free Dentistry. And the results are for patients to feel relaxed and comfortable.
