This past weekend, Sarah and I were watching a cooking show.
This woman chef and host, traveled around the world and learned different cooking techniques. Her teaching moment was that every great dish has 4 main characteristics.
She went around the world and broke down each of these important characteristics. She went to Italy, Japan, Mexico and Northern California.
As we were watching this show, Sarah and I began to complain that one of the things that we hate the most about the pandemic, is the inability to travel.
Then we began to talk about the places we would like to travel to and what we would like to see in each of these places. Our imagination began to run wild and it was so vivid in my mind.
For me, this is a normal process of whenever I’m going to move forward in any purchasing transaction. I first begin to imagine what I want. Then I think of how I’m going to achieve it. Then I begin thinking of the purchase more frequently. At first I’ll maybe think about it every other months, then I’ll think about it every month, then every week, and all of a sudden I can’t stop thinking about it. That’s usually when I know that I’m ready to move forward with my purchase.
In dentistry, it’s no different when people think about their mouth. Many people will come into the office and say they are sick and tired of looking at their crooked tooth in photos.
When I ask them of when they first noticed their crooked tooth, they say it has been years. At first they didn’t really notice it and now that’s all they see in pictures.
When we fixate our mind on it, then we become motivated to get it done.
If you have been thinking about going to the dentist for a while…NOW is the time.
