I’ve been in and around the Wicker Park, Bucktown, and Logan Square area my entire life.
When I was born, our first apartment was in Logan Square. Both sets of grandparents lived in Logan Square.
And several uncles and aunts also lived in Logan Square.
Once my family moved to Skokie, my grandparents on my mom’s side, would pick us up, and drive us to their apartment in Logan Square. This was every weekend.
It was fun sleeping over their apartment. They would play with us and tell us stories.
My grandma would have us help her cook.
They just drowned us in affection.
It was a great time in my life.
I remember that when my grandfather would pick us up, he would take the same route.
As he turned onto Kedzie, I would see the Logan Square monument with the large eagle. Then I knew we were close to his home.
Then my grandfather would begin to laugh hysterically.
He was always laughing. Part of the reason I would say it, would be to make him laugh.
I haven’t driven down that street in years and last weekend I did.
I forgot the Logan Monument was on that street but as soon as I saw it….. a huge smile came to my face.
The image of me sitting in the back seat of my grandfather’s car came to me.
It’s funny how the brain works.
How a sight or smell can trigger the emotion of what we felt at one time or another.
In dentistry, people will have reactions to the sound of the drills or the smell of the office. Many times, the patients’ reaction to these stimulants, is a negative one and create anxiety to the patient.
At Dente, we recognize that a huge section of the American population has a fear of going to the dentist.
ANXIETY FREE DENTISTRY is offering our patients anxiety reducing pills that helps the patient relax during their appointment.
They are given one pill, that is taken the night before the appointment. And one pill, the morning of the appointment.
If you have anxiety while you go to the dentist and would like to try our ANXIETY FREE DENTISTRY, please call 773-292-1911 to set up a consultation.
