For a very long time, Finn has been begging us to learn to play the guitar.
Ever since he was a little kid, he’s loved playing and singing songs. I’ve been reluctant about starting him on the guitar.
He’s asked us about starting other activities and has lost interest pretty quickly.
I wanted to be very clear with him that he will need to practice everyday. I wanted to make sure that he would be committed.
Finally, after a year of pleading, we finally signed Finn to a guitar class. And I am very impressed with his music school.
The music school is called School of Rock. The school gives him a private lesson once a week. Then once a week they will do a group lesson with other students.
At the end of the session, in October they will have a concert with the students and will have a rock concert for their family and friends.
The instruments that this school teaches is the electric guitar, bass, drums, synthesizer and vocals. The one thing that is great about this school, is the group class and the end of the year rock concert.
The group class forces him to practice, because he doesn’t want to disappoint the group. And the end of the year concert gives them a goal to shoot for.
Having a goal to shoot for, is a great way to become motivated.
Many people will use an event as a motivator, to reach a certain goal.
Many of our patients will use events like weddings, anniversaries, Bar Mitzvah’s, or communions, to help get their teeth and gums to a healthy and beautiful state.
If you have a big event coming up, this will be the perfect time to get your oral health back on track. Please visit us at mydente.com or call 773-292-1911 to schedule your consultation.
