I love barbecue! I could eat barbecue everyday.
Whenever I go to a barbecue town, like Nashville or St Louis, I make sure that one of my stops is at a famous barbecue restaurant.
On my block, we have a neighbor who is a barbecue expert.
Collin studies this stuff. He will buy barbecue books and learn from the experts. He documents all of his barbecue meals. He will make slight changes to his barbecue technique and keep track of how that slight change affected the meat.
This last weekend, Collin invited us to eat some smoked brisket and smoked pork shoulder, over at his house. The food was incredible.
It was some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. I did not have any of the sides, just the meat. It was so good. I kept on going up for more.
While I was eating, something happened that had never happened before. I began having the meat sweats.
My excessive eating, triggered this involuntary profuse sweating. I’ve never experienced this before and had to relax to get the sweats to stop.
Having involuntary responses happen to us in a lot of situations. In dentistry, we see it all the time.
Some people will suddenly begin to shake, when they sit in the dental chair. Their fear of the dentist will overcome them and all of a sudden they begin to shake.
Many of these people avoid going to the dentist all together.
For these patients we will have Anxiety Free Dentistry.
We will give these patients an anxiety reducing pill the night before and then another anxiety reducing pill the morning of their appointment.
Generally, these patients will describe their Anxiety Free Dental appointment as their best dental appointment ever. And that they don’t remember much of it, which is a good thing.
