A Thoughtful Gesture

I’ve been friends with Tim and Todd for almost 20 years now. They own this beautiful Chicago Bungalow in the western suburbs. They have been able to preserve, restore and refinish all of the home’s beautiful woodwork.

Additionally, they have made amazing tables and counters that accentuate the home’s architecture. My wife, Sarah, loves their home and the natural wood furniture and woodwork.

Sarah was talking to Tim about how she was looking for a bench that we could place in our entryway. She wanted a beautiful and functional piece that people could sit on when they took off their shoes close to our front door.

A few weeks ago, Tim and Todd came over. They had a surprise for us. Together, they made us a bench.

The bench used to be a table from a chemistry lab. A catholic school was closing and people were allowed to remove the furniture. They made the necessary changes to have it accommodate our needs and wishes.

The piece turned out amazing but the most importantly, it was made by great friends that we care about.

They specifically went out of their way to help us out. That meant a lot to us.
