This past weekend, we stayed downtown for a stay-cation.
When we were downtown we saw something very unusual.
During two, completely different incidents, we saw an 18 wheeler trucks hit a over pass and completely destroy the truck.
This created complete havoc downtown with traffic and probably destroys thousands of dollars in merchandise.
I remember that on a monthly basis, the overpass on North Ave would have trucks stuck underneath and the trailers would be destroyed.
It would take hours to get these trucks dislodged and was a complete annoyance for the traffic in the area.
We have a bunch of patients that work with logistic companies, that help connect the drivers to the company that needs the merchandise moved.
They told me, that these kind of accidents happen all the time. Even with the fact that most of the overpasses state the clearance and nowadays the GPS instruct drivers through routes to avoid the low clearance routes.
Even with all this technology, these types of accidents are still occurring.
When I asked them how could it be avoided, the answer seems so simple.Paying attention and most importantly, plan ahead the route beforehand, to see all the potential problems before they start their drive.
This is no different than in dentistry.
Sometimes dental care requires many phases and requires several different people in the treatment.
At times 3 to 4 different providers may be required to execute a complex treatment plan.
Get all of the specialist on the same page before anyone has even begun treatment.
For some patients this type of planning is annoying, but it’s a necessary thing. In order to create the best and most efficient results.
As I have become more seasoned in my career, these complex cases are coming very frequent. The reason why, is that we are getting great results.
And we get great results because we have a thorough treatment plan.
