Solving Problems

Whenever we go to any event, such as a Bears game, a Cubs game, a movie or a concert, Finn is immediately looking to get something to eat and drink.

When we went to the Imagine Dragons concert, it was no different.

As soon as we got into the stadium, Finn said, “Dad, can I get something to drink?”

We walked over to the concession stand where they had all of their items. Finn quickly read through the list and shouted, “Oh! I want soft serve ice cream.”

My immediate response was, “Finn, this is going to be a mess. They are going to put it on a cone. It’s going to melt and get your fingers sticky.

“Don’t worry dad, I'll eat it fast. It won’t get it on me.” He responded.

“OK, let's get it.” I said in a defeated tone.

When the very nice person who helped us, handed over our soft serve ice cream, I was pleasantly surprised. It was in a pouch that had a cap on the top and you had to squeeze the pouch to extract the ice cream.

Brilliant idea! No mess equals no annoyed dad…SUCCESS!!! These people saw an issue and figured out a solution.

In dentistry, we see these kinds of opportunities a lot. Patients, for a long time, had no real way of seeing what their enhanced smile could possibly look like.

They had to imagine it in their head and hope for the best, when they saw the final result.

Nowadays, we have many different ways of demonstrating to the patient how their enhanced smile will look in their mouth.

The best way to get a mental picture of the enhanced smile is by creating a prototype that fits over your existing teeth.

No tooth is altered, and the prototype goes right over your current teeth. Then the patient can see what the smile enhancement looks like in their own face.

The guess work is taken out of the scenario completely. And you get the smile you’ve always dreamed of.
