In the last few years, one of the most difficult things with owning your own business is finding good employees.
The job market has been very tough and we have not avoided that difficulty.
If we schedule 10 job interviews, maybe 2 will actually show up. I’ve been open for almost 20 years and have never experienced so many 'no show' numbers like that.
Now you have to go through a lot more applications to get the right person.
One of the ways we find people is through Indeed. We set the parameters of what we are looking for and Indeed will send us tons of applications.
One thing we noticed is that the applications that we were receiving were from people with no dental experience.

He spent some time helping Zhana create the right ad and the quality of the applicants improved immediately.
We began receiving applicants with years of dental experience. When we screened them on the phone, they were able to hold a conversation and asked great questions. And here’s the kicker…when we scheduled their in-person interviews, they actually showed up.
