As a kid my grandma and mom were always on top of keeping our gym shoes looking nice and white. They would clean them by hand and would rub this white liquid that would paint the shoe with this stuff that looked like liquid paper. It never looked great.
Nowadays, I am always looking at the cleanliness of shoes. (No judgment!) I am fascinated with people that are able to keep their shoes clean and keep them looking new.
One of those people is Sara, our hygienist. Her shoes are always nice and bright. So, I asked her what her secret was to keep nice clean looking shoes.
She told me that she washes her sneakers in the washing machine.
She does this about once a month. Her process is to remove the insoles and shoelaces out of the shoe.
Place the shoes in the washing machine, put laundry detergent, and place it on delicate wash.
The shoelaces she washes separately in a bowl of water and dish soap. She scrubs the laces by hand and allows the laces to soak in the soapy water for an hour or so.
I decided to do this whole process with some of my shoes that I didn’t really care about. I wanted to test the process to make sure that I did it correctly, before I washed my good shoes.
Basically, I wanted to test drive the process before I invested the time and effort on my nice shoes that I wear.
Most people like to “test drive” things when we are not sure of the outcome.
Cosmetic dentistry is something that a lot of people are not sure about. Getting started is very scary for some people when they are not sure what the finished product will look like.
Some of the questions that people have are:
Will my smile look better, or will this new smile make me look worse?
Will I talk funny? Is this new smile going to change the way I pronounce my words?
Are these new whiter and brighter teeth going to make my teeth look fake?
Many of these questions are answered when the patient is able to test drive their new smile in an inexpensive way.
Here at Dente, we offer a TEST DRIVE for patients to see a newly proposed, enhanced smile.
A plastic prototype is created of the new enhanced smile and placed over the patients existing teeth. This gives the patient a mental picture of what their new smile will look like on their face.
Pictures will be taken of the new smile, and the patient could walk out with their new prototype smile so their family could give their feedback.
If they love it, they will move forward with starting the next steps to the new smile. This process is a game changer.
If you want to enhance your smile and would like a smile makeover test drive, please visit us at mydente.com and call 773-292-1911 to schedule your appointment.
