Last Friday, I went to the Cubs/Diamondback game at Wrigley Field.
I only go to about one or two games a year. Not a lot.
This last Friday, I went to the game right after work. I did not grab lunch and figured I’d eat something at the ballpark. I immediately went to my seat to meet my friends. Then after I sat down, I told the group that I was going to get something to eat and drink.
Then one of my friends told me that I didn’t have to get up and could order whatever I wanted straight from my phone.
He said that right in front of me, the back of the seats had a QR code that I could scan, and it would immediately take me to the Cubs menu.
Then after about 5 minutes my food and drink would arrive.
The process was smooth and easy. I was very surprised that I didn’t know about it.
In dentistry, there are many smooth and easy processes that are unknown to the general public.
One of those things is a cosmetic smile prototype. Let me explain…
Many people will come into our office to get ideas on how to improve their smile.
Describing to people how their smile can be improved is fun for me but can sometimes be difficult for them to imagine in their mouth.
So, we also show them before and after photos of patients that we have cosmetically improved their smiles, and this will give them a better picture.
But the best way for them to get a picture of their future smile is to create the changes on a prototype and have the patient place it over their existing teeth.
This is the way that the patient can physically see the changes in their mouth with any permanent fixes.
Almost 100% of the time, the patient is “Wowed” with the cosmetic changes and feel comfortable moving forward with their treatment.
