Bear Tactics

When Finn began playing sports, he had a habit of taunting the opposing team whenever he would make a good play. He learned this by watching sports on tv.

This would drive me nuts and I would yell, “Finn, STOP that!” He would get embarrassed and quickly stop.

I am glad that he has stopped taunting opposing players but last week I had a glance into why you shouldn’t taunt others.

Last week, the Bears were playing the Washington Commanders.

It was a big game because the number one draft pick Caleb Williams was playing against the number two draft pick Jayden Daniels.

Both players are quarterbacks, and it was the first time they’ve played against each other. The game was very close, and it came down to the last few seconds.

The Bears were leading Washington 15 to 12. There was one second left in the game. The commanders needed to score, and they were 52 yards away from scoring.

Washington starts the play and one of the Bears players was distracted taunting the Washington fans.

He was not paying attention to the game and was celebrating before they actually won the game. The Commanders threw a 52-yard pass and ended up beating the Bears 15 to 18. The distracted player was lying on the ground in shame and embarrassment.

We all have things that embarrass us. Some people get embarrassed and are very self-conscious about their smile because they don’t like the way their teeth look.

They may not like the color. They may not like the size and shape. They may not like the positioning of their teeth.

They may even avoid taking photos with a smile or they try hiding their smile so people can’t see it.

These are just a few things that people are embarrassed about their smile, and no one should ever taunt or judge a person because of the way they look.

Here at Dente, we focus on treating people in a non-judgmental way. We treat each other with kindness and heart. And it shows in their smile.
